What's New?:   The Local Groundwater Assistance Program Technical Advisory Panel (TAP) is scheduled to meet on Monday, June 1, 2009 beginning at 10 am at the Bonderson Hearing Room, 901 P Street, Sacramento, CA 95814. The meeting is opened to the public. The purpose of the meeting is to take a comprehensive look at ways to improve the LGA Program including issuing Guidelines.

Applicant: Local public agencies with authority to manage groundwater resources

Projects: Groundwater data collection, modeling, monitoring and management studies; monitoring programs and installation of equipment; basin management; development of information systems; and other groundwater related work.

Funding: Up to $250,000 per eligible applicant. Due to the current budget situation, agencies who have been awarded grants were told to only proceed with work at their own risk.

Expected Next Application Solicitation: Funding is pending bond authorization.

Fund Source: Proposition 84

Most Recent Awards: In November 2008, DWR awarded $4,317,511 in grants from Prop. 84 funds to 25 public agencies [Table - PDF] (10 KB) [Map - PDF] (286 KB). These awards were made to the pool of 122 grant applications received in December 2007. Six (6) agencies who were partially funded in June 2008 received funding to meet their original request; 16 public agencies received full funding; and three (3) grants were for Capacity Building Grants.
